breast implant choices
Can people with Multiple Sclerosis have breast implants?

Has anyone been diagnosed with MS and then had a breast augmentation later? I’m not asking about breast implants causing MS. I’d just like to know if it’s okay to get implants when a person is already diagnosed. I’m emberassed to ask my doctor and I haven’t gone in for my consultation yet.

And eh, don’t give me crap about boob jobs. It’s a personal choice and has nothing to do with the question.

Thanks guys!

I’m not an MD, but I’m a PhD who has worked in MS for 8 years. My opinion is: Yes, go ahead and get the implants. You’ll be sore and swollen for up to a week and will probably want pain killers the first couple of days and an anti-inflammatory but this should have no negative impact on your MS. Good luck!

Lasik Eye Surgery Cost

If you’re thinking about having lasik done then obviously the first thing you’ll think about is the safety of the procedure. I’m sure right after that you’ll start thinking about eye surgery cost. While the cost is lower than it was, you’ll have a hard time nailing down a number because lasik costs can vary based on several factors.

The first factor that will influence the cost of lasik is your location. Prices vary from state to state and city to city, with the most expensive places being the east and west coast major cities. You’ll find that lasik prices are higher in Atlanta and San Francisco than they are in Kansas City for example.

Another huge factor is the type of technology used for your laser eye surgery. The newer the technology the more expensive your surgery is going to be.

Finally, you’ll find that the experience and qualifications of the doctor will have an effect on the price of lasik.

What are typical lasik eye surgery costs?
When all is said and done, the average price of lasik eye surgery is around $1500 per eye. This price includes everything from the consultation right through the post operative follow up. Two of the factors that can change this price significantly are you’re location and the type and severity of your vision problem.

Will there be any additional Costs?
Additional costs will depend on how the price of the eye surgery is quoted. Some clinics and eye doctors will quote a base price with anything else costing extra, while others prefer to quote an all inclusive price. Any time you see extremely low advertisements for laser eye surgery these are the base prices without anything extra. Most people won’t even qualify for this extremely low lasik price.

Is discount lasik available?
It is still possible to save money on your lasik surgery. Some eye clinics will give you a discount for paying in cash and still others will print coupons in the local newspapers or yellow pages. Since eye surgery is a highly competitive market you may even be able to negotiate your own discount. Ask about possible discounts during your consultation.

Lasik eye surgery cost is certainly one of the most important things that will keep people from having the procedure done. Even though the price of lasik is a big consideration, there’s no need to let it hold you back from having the procedure done. With the lowest prices ever, possible discounts and financing available anyone who wants to can now have lasik.

Breast Implants – What Do Men Think?

As a woman considering breast implants, for enhancement or restorative reasons, you might be wondering what men really think about them.

First, you should understand that this is a very common thing to be wondering about men’s thoughts on breast implants is completely normal and natural. Women who have an augmentation do so for themselves, for their own self-image and self-esteem, but many women do make their decisions after consultation with the men in their lives.

Just as all women are individuals so are all men. Men come in all shapes, sizes, and preferences when it comes to how they like the women in their lives to look. While one man may love a woman with a large chest, another may very well prefer a woman with a smaller one. When it comes to the men in our lives, their opinions run the full gamut as well.

You will find, in talking with men, that some appreciate a large bust size whether it is natural or from surgical enhancement. These men appreciate simply the look of large breasts and are not concerned with hoe they got to be that way; for them, the bigger the better.

Then there is another group of men who appreciate a more natural woman and would prefer that women don’t get implants unless there are extraordinary circumstances.

These men tend to be sensitive to the fact the breast augmentation is major surgery and comes with the associated risks. They would prefer the woman in their lives to simply keep the body she was born with, with exception to a serious breast defect or other concern to be corrected through surgery.

The truth of the matter is that many women choose to have an augmentation to help themselves feel better about their bodies and so that their clothing will fit better.

Unfortunately, in today’s society, breast size has a lot to do with the clothing you can wear off of the rack and how you are viewed by other people, both men and women alike. Men can respect this about a woman and many of them will be supportive whatever her choice might be regarding the surgery.

The easy answer to the question “what do men think about breast implants and the women who have them” is simply that it depends on the man.

However, if you are considering breast implants and the man in your life is showing apprehension, you can help to put their mind at ease by finding a board certified plastic surgeon that you can both go to for a consultation.

This will allow your husband or boyfriend to ask the doctor any questions which he might have and help him to feel better about whatever decision you ultimately make.

And, of course, the most important thing is that your decision to have or not have breast augmentation is completely up to you.
